Last October we participated in a fellowship program with the Young Leaders of the America’s Initiative. This program is geared at building entrepreneurs in the Caribbean and Latin America. As a follow up to this project Kalene Designs was selected to host a Reverse Exchange Project, where a representative of the organization we worked with during the fellowship period comes to our home country to put on a business and community building project. Between the 15th – 28th of April Kalene Designs will be hosting workshops and sessions at various institutions to achieve the following objectives:

  • Educate local crafters and school leavers of more creative job options
  • Educate local entrepreneurs about environmentally responsible and sustainable business practices
  • Introduce local business to the concept of B corp certification
  • Introduce locals to YLAI and the benefits of such programs
  • Funnel interested workers into the Kalene work force

Our representative is Angelina Malizia from Looptworks and we are extremely excited to have her and we look forward to creating change in our community!
